It’s 2012…

So as we all know, every new year brings new opportunities, new resolutions and some think, the end of the world. Now whether or not it truly is destined to be the end all, what should be noted as Steve Jobs once said in his speech to a body of Stanford graduating students…

“.. almost everything – all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”

when I first heard this it resounded with me very heavily; not because I was facing a near death situation, but it was such a simple truth that I failed to remember every day of my life and I saw how much that truth could change my life if I had actually exercised that way of thinking. So with that step, I followed my heart a little more and started working on and developing some other things I truly have a passion for.

I mentioned in another part of my site that I started working on an inkling of a brand called SLVT, which is just in it’s infancy right now, but I hope this first step is part of another longer journey that will bring me closer to fulfilling that idea that I have nothing to lose. I’ve started printing just 3 designs for the time being, but I do hope to be printing out a total of 9 designs in the next few weeks to mark the beginning of the slvt life.
